Instructors from Sydney, Australia, and participants from 10 danish clubs ... what a seminar!
A family trip to Australia made the seminar happen
In October and November 2014 Shihan Finn was on a trip to Australia with his wife Hanne and two daughters. The youngest daughter, Nina, is training Jiu-Jitsu in Horsens, so of course she would like to tra some Ju-Jitsu Down Under. So, in Sydney she visited the World Ju-Jitsu Federations (WJJF) Australia HQ. Here her father had a long talk with Soke Alan Campbell (8th Dan) whom he knew from the time Soke was living in Liverpool.
Our best seminar ever?
Soke Alan Campbell brought two of his full-time instructors with him to Denmark. The two instructors were Sensei Michael CAROZZA and Sensei Anton Abisaab. All three did a great job and made people move their a ... the hole day. Several of our experienced members have said that the course was the best in many, many years! There was as much to do on the tatami: throws, chokes, leg locks, Embu, ground defense, two opponents etc.
Krav Maga & Israeli Jiu-Jitsu
The course also had a little surprise: Lasse Clausen, who is head instructor of Esbjerg Krav Maga & Israeli Jiu-Jitsu. He taught some effective ground techniques that several of our members already has included in their training. Lasse Clausen represented an effective style that suited many of our members well.
Great job everybody!
Yellow belts, black belts, juniors and seniors ... EVERYBODY did a great job throughout the day. It was a great effort by all – even when the techniques got more advenced, the yellow belts still were training hard.
World Ju-Jitsu Federation Training & Development
At the end of the course, our chief instructor was appointed as National representative of Denmark – for the World Ju-Jitsu Federation Training & Development Services. It does NOT mean that we are moving away from WEBBS. But it means that we are serious about the relationship to the Australian instructors who can bring us new inspiration from "Down Under" :-)
